A Guide to Installing the RakanWorks App (PWA)
Welcome to RakanWorks! Our new company application is a Progressive Web App (PWA), which gives you a native app-like experience directly from our website. You can add it to your device's home screen for quick, easy access, just like any other app.
This guide will walk you through the installation process on your specific device.
First Step for Everyone:
Click the distribution link you received via email or message. You will be taken to a page where you must verify your identity to access the application before proceeding with the steps below.
How to Install on Android
The process on Android is straightforward and supported by most modern browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
Using Google Chrome (Recommended)
Open the Link: After clicking the link and verifying your identity, the app will open in Chrome.
Look for a Prompt: Many sites will automatically show a pop-up banner at the bottom of the screen to install the app. If you see this, tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install" and confirm your choice.
Manual Installation: If you don't see an automatic prompt, you can install it manually:
Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) in the top-right corner.
From the dropdown menu, select the "Install app" option.
A confirmation dialog will appear. Tap "Install" to complete the process.
Other Android Browsers (Edge, Firefox)
The process is very similar in other browsers:
Microsoft Edge: Tap the menu icon (three dots) and look for an option like "Install app" or "Add to screen".
Firefox: Tap the menu icon (three dots) and select "Install".
Samsung Internet: Tap the menu icon (three lines) and select "Add page to", then choose "Home screen".
Once installed, the app icon will appear on your home screen or in your app drawer, allowing you to launch it with a single tap.
How to Install on iOS (iPhone/iPad)
On an iPhone or iPad, you must use the Safari browser to add the PWA to your home screen. This functionality is not available in other browsers like Chrome or Firefox on iOS.
Important: If the link opens in a different browser (e.g., Chrome, or the in-app browser in Gmail), you must copy the link's URL, close that browser, and paste the URL into a new tab in Safari.
Open in Safari: Ensure the verified app page is open in Safari.
Tap the Share Icon:
On an iPhone, this icon is at the bottom center of the screen (a square with an arrow pointing upwards).
On an iPad, it is usually in the top-right corner.
Select "Add to Home Screen": A share menu will slide up. Scroll through the list of options and tap on "Add to Home Screen".
Confirm the Details: You can keep the default name for the app or customize it.
Add the App: Tap the "Add" button in the top-right corner of the screen.
The app will now appear as an icon on your home screen. You can tap it to open the app directly in its own window, separate from the Safari browser.
